CLOUD by Sanja Knezovic

Cloud hails from a family of modular sofas, offering a number of compositions adapted to each given space. Its morphology is defined by the simple basic lines of a somewhat lower armchair and an elevated armrest. Support from the cold foam reinforces its entire volume, while the superficial layer of feather filling adds extra softness to the Cloud and ultimately a feeling of ‘sitting on the clouds’. Together with a cover made from natural materials, the experience of relaxation and pleasure is maximised. Cloud’s dimensions go hand-in-hand with the needs of diverse groups of users, who can choose between two different widths of the module. Its morphology makes the Cloud ideal for the furnishing of larger spaces.

Soon, important Belgian fashion designers such as A.F. Vandevorst, Walter Van Beirendonck, Bruno Pieters and Dries Van Noten started requesting her original creations. Determined to share her vision in the field of accessories with the rest of the world, she launched her first independent jewelry collection in November 2004, entitled Blush.

La Promeneuse is a new decorative object designed to diffuse the most emblematic fragrances of
Cire Trudon.
It perfumes interiors with a wax cameo. Heated from beneath, the cameo melts and spreads its fragrance quickly into the air. La Promeneuse allows the object to easily change fragrances.
La Promeneuse was imagined by Cire Trudon and designed by Pauline Detour. The decorative, functional Promeneuse uses the brand's key codes: grooved antique glass, and old-gold color, wax cameos and the range's perfumes.

Dr Jackson’s is a niche cosmeceutical company created from 21 years of pharmacognosy research, utilising the best from nature.

Pharmacognosy is the study of medicines derived from natural sources and for over two decades, founder Dr Simon Jackson has been doing research in laboratories around the world, carrying out in-vitro and in-vivo testing of indigenous plants and traditional medicines sourced everywhere from Europe and the Amazon to Indonesia to Sub-Saharan Africa, and collaborating with the best formulation scientists to produce his range of skincare.

Learning from traditional healers, Dr Jackson’s uses techniques which mimic the way that the natural ingredients used are extracted at source, and rigorously tests them to ensure purity as well as ascertain they are at a concentration high enough to be effective.

Piet Hein Eek, one of the Netherlands’ leading designers, is usually noted alongside the scrap wood furniture that made him famous throughout the world, but the Dutch designer is much more all-rounded. Without being held back by rules or habits, he designs and manufactures furniture, lighting and accessories, but also complete interiors. Perhaps it is the ‘going against the grain’ mindset that Eek and LEFF amsterdam recognize in one another. Why start designing clocks these days, while time is all around us? It is because of the challenge of creating a beautiful timepiece, even though nobody really needs a clock. In collaboration with LEFF amsterdam, Piet Hein Eek created the tube series, a timeless collection consisting of a clock, a speaker and a watch.
Piet Hein Eek: “The initial idea was to create a clock that you could build and modify yourself. This required a technical and logical design that would be easy to assemble. My starting point was a steel tube and an extruded ring that would function as the clock’s face. We found the first prototype to be so beautiful, that it was unnecessary to modify anything and we decided to let go of the DIY concept. The final design turned out to be so obvious that you would think it already exists, but it really doesn’t. For most designers, simplicity is not the go-to area when you want to make something exceptional.”

One thing led to another.
The extruded ring used in the tube clock asked for a more prominent role and so the idea for a tube watch arose. As opposed to the tube clock, where the aesthetics were a result of the concept, the tube watch used the extruded ring as a starting point for the design. The precisely cut ring and the high quality materials give this watch its refined, yet tough and industrial character. Both watch models, one with a leather strap and one with a steel band, show a different interpretation of the iconic watch face.
